Our ecologist assesses the effect the OMM event has on the sensitive location s we use. He produces reports before during and 12 months after each event to identify and monitor any changes as a results of the event. His work ensures we leave no permanent impact on the landscape and are welcomed back by park authorities and land owners. David is currently working on the post event Assessment.

Finishers are streaming back in now. Everyone looking like they’ve had a lot of fun in the mud.
Competitors are emerging from their tents, making breakfast and getting ready for the day ahead. A lot of blurry eyes this morning!

Great atmosphere at the over night camp. Everyone tucking into their evening meals and retelling their stories from day 1. Results updated shortly.
The final competitors are making their way to the overnight camp. Some tired looking people, all have had an challenging but enjoyable day.
Day 1 results as of 16:20 are here. Competitors are still finishing we will update the results once the courses close at 20:00.
Galloway is proving to be as formidable as it promised to be. Tough going on all the courses with 30ft visibility, bog and endless tussocks. Today will be a mental battle for everyone. The clouds are looking like lifting through the afternoon which make the going slightly easier.
And they’re off!! The clag is in but it’s relatively warm for an OMM. Definitely a day of challenging navigation.
