Morecambe High School
Morecambe Community High School is at
the heart of its community
We take students of all abilities, from those with specific learning needs to those with
potential for Oxbridge entrance.
We believe in providing education for life. In other words, young people are supported
to become independent learners with the ability to acquire the academic, vocational and
social skills required to help them take their place in the adult world.
Our role is to ensure that each student leaves the school with an academic passport to
choose the right pathway for him or her.
The strength of the school is the high quality of the teaching and care we provide.
Outdoor education
We offer a unique opportunity for all students to enjoy a range of outdoor activities as
part of the curriculum.
At Key Stage 3 every student will have a five day experience including sailing, rock
climbing, caving, kayaking and ghyll scrambling.
At Key Stage 4 students have the opportunity to continue their Outdoor Education as part of
the GCSE PE or Public Services courses. An extension programme is available in which all
students are actively encouraged to become involved
