No, I also spent a good 20 minutes on Google Maps trying to work out which mountain area is 1.5 hrs from Glasgow/Edinburgh and 2.75 hrs from Inverness!
It's got to be somewhere around Ben More or Ben Lawers I reckon.

hmmmm . . .they do sound good but both seem a little far for the time scales given. its easy 2hrs+ from galsgow to Ben lawers . . . and over 3.5 hours from inverness the search continues . . .

Last year I worked out where the options would be and was fairly certain that my pick was going to be broadly correct (I had guessed Glenfinnan accurately the year before) and in the end their Inverness to Kintail time was closer to what it would take to get to Uig, well ok probably more like Portree, but none the less it was a bit out and so was my guess. Its all part of the fun!

According to the AA, Glasgow-Killin is 1hr 22m, Inverness-Killin is 3hr 02m. Based on this, Ben Lawers area seems quite reasonable.

Killin area does seem reasonable, but it's very close to the 2007 location - and if you headed east/south away from Glen Lyon (the 2007 area) then there are quite a few roads.
Much as I'd like it to be Blair Atholl, it's too close to Inverness.
My money's currently on somewhere in the vicinity of Dalmally, heading either south/east (Ben Lui etc) or (Nen Cruachan and the Etive hills).

Also, they said something like 2 1/2 hours from Glasgow to Glenfinnan in 2008, quite a bit faster than google maps etc estimate!
