OMM 2009 EVENT News

Entry fee refunds; sorry but as there is no longer a reserve/waiting list we are no longer issuing refunds of entry fees. We also cannot accept deferral of your payment for next year's event. As stated in the programme you will be listed as a non starter and will receive maps/results after the event.
Bus times; please ensure you turn up 10 minutes before your bus time.You will be issued with a bus ticket at registration (1 per team). Latecomers will be placed in a late pen and only allowed on a bus when a space becomes available. There was a mistake in the programme with some of the early C Class competitors bus times. This has been modified and the start list on the web site has the updated information.
EQUIPMENT listing and advice; we have released final updates on equipment (link to equipment secton of forum) and also within news.
GPS; the addition clarification is that any sort of device which records position even if not usable for navigation is not allowed. This is because these devices measure speed and that would be a big advantage for some classes.
EVENT SAFETY
In the unlikely case of a media storm as last year, 2008 Seathwaite, we will have designated phone numbers to call posted on the website. Please reassure your nearest and dearest/next of kin that there will be a direct number to call in case of emergency. Please note that this is for emergencies only and not for standard info requests; where is ..........., how is?
Unlike last year where we were in a communications black hole, this year we have SPECTRA our telecoms sponsor ( link) who have provided us with a satellite network which allows us to not only monitor the internet happenings but also add some interesting new reporting features, so suggest to you home support team they keep looking in.
Up & Running will be hosting the OMMExpo at the Event Centre- with a huge selection of the best in Adventure Racing kit & clothing.
Competitors wishing to reserve gas to pick up at the Expo, should pre-order by emailing
terry@upandrunning.co.uk with 'OMM Gas' as the subject, stating quantity and size - 100g or 230g
Whats different about the event since last year?
read Mike's Blog where he will try to update you and overview about what to be aware of and whats new in reporting because of the satellite links. This blog will be updated through the weekend as the event evolves.
