For fell/trail/orienteering the Silva Trail Runner is a great piece of kit. I ran all last winter with one.
It''s fairly light, and feels really stable. It has a separate wide beam which makes it easier to see
where you're putting your feet, and spot path junctions/controls that you might otherwise pass.
Think you would need something else on the bike.

I've got one of these:
http://www.thetorchsite.co.uk/LED_Lenser_H7R_Rechargeable_Head_Torch.html

Extremely bright, and very cheap for the spec.
The main downside is that the head strap is too  large - I've got a big head, and it only just fits when on its tightest setting. So I've used the strap from my old torch instead.

I have just bought a hope vision 1 led. After a couple of years using a petzl myo xp It can't hold a candel to it Wink. Its quite heavy at 280g with lithium batteries, but it is amazing. We have an 11:30 start time so I am considering taking it.  The light comes with a bike, helmet and head mounting kit. The headstrap is quite uncomfortable, I contacted hope and they are in the process of redesigning it. At £80 its not that bad.

We use Black Diamond Spot XB for general mountain stuff, early alpine starts, running off road in the dark and occasional mtb sessions. You can cut the power to increase battery life and the three smaller LED's are good in the tent.
We use something much smaller for the OMM though.

A lot of people in the AR world rate the exposurelights joystick

It is a bike light but you can get a headband to use as a headtorch

300 lumens on max (3 hour) and £165

Me, I use an Alpkit Gamma 51 lumens £12.50 and a homemade bike light 240 lumens £30.

The summer months are crashing to an end and most of my training runs are now (at least partially) after dark. I use a Petzl Tikka Plus which is fine for most things including night running on the road but it's no way bright enough for trail or fell runs at night. I'm also looking for a much brighter bike light so thought I may be able to get something to cover both (i.e. bar or helmet mount included). The Petzl Ultra looks awesome but I can't bring myself to spend £300 on a torch... unless it really is the Dogs! Any suggestions?
