A Mountain Marathon combined with navigational mountain biking. Single or pairs entry score courses.

The Polaris Challenge was originally conceived in 1987 to bring the Mountain Marathon to the Mountain Biking community.  Now in its third year as an OMM event, we are broadening the course offering to provide something for the purist self-sufficient riders but also those who want to travel lighter on challenging descents.

A Class -         7hr day 1, 5hr day 2 return basecamp

B Class -         5hr day 1, 4hr day 2 return basecamp

“2012 was the first time in many years that there has been a wild overnight camp on offer for the riders.  It was certainly a sight to behold, watching riders gather on a hillside overlooking Semmer Water to enjoy the sunset and rest some very weary legs after a long day of riding...” “…the special feeling here is the reason that we are now re-instating this as a permanent feature of future races.”
